Each year, we treat more than 900 sick and premature babies in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Some may be with us for a few months while they grow and become strong enough to go home, others may just need a few days support. Babies born with specific problems may need surgery or complex medical care. Babies may start off in our intensive care room and as they grow and improve will progress through to high dependency and on the special care rooms. When well enough to go home, some babies and families will still need support and we are able to provide this with our outreach team of nurses.

The money you raise helps to pay for the most up-to-date equipment to care for babies, ensuring that staff are able to receive the best training and that parents are supported with the best possible facilities while their baby is in hospital.

Areas you can help:

Mckee House is a five-bedroom property just a two minutes’ walk away from the main hospital building and, for a nominal fee, parents are able to stay while their baby is in NICU.The house provides not only a room to stay but a much-needed opportunity for parents to rest and relax away from the pressures of the unit.

NICU – we would like to enhance our parent facilities on the unit itself and also provide additional innovative equipment which can improve the care for our youngest patients.
